It takes a very special couple to pull off a DIY camp wedding. Actually it takes more than a couple. It takes a whole village! My dear friends Megan + Selwin are the kind of people who can plan the craziness and magic that is a wedding in the woods – and pick the most gorgeous and sunny fall day for it. In fact, I couldn’t imagine them getting married any other way! They are both get-your-hands-dirty kind of people who love the outdoors. They are the friends you can always count on to lend a hand when you need it or bail you out of a pickle (actually, their pup’s name is Pickles haha), so when it came time to gather reinforcements to put on a camp wedding, everyone pitched in make it a reality. Everything from the flowers to the decorations to ALL the food was DIY’d by the couple’s family and friends. It was so awesome to watch everyone come together with whatever skills and talents they had to support these two amazing people. Plus, so many of us in their circle became friends through camping trips in the first place! The Mohican Outdoor Center on the New Jersey side of the Delaware Water Gap was the perfect backdrop to the weekend with cabins, tent space, a rec center for dinner and dancing, and trees simply dripping with golden fall foliage. Of all the camping trips our little West Philly crew has taken, this was definitely one of my all time favorites (with the most mac & cheese for sure!).
