I got an email from Ellie and Jake when I was in Istanbul. I wrote a quick reply with free wifi and told them I would send more details when I returned to Philly. She answered, “Istanbul! That is our favorite place. That is where we got engaged and my “engagement ring” is, in fact, a Turkish dowry rug.” They wanted to have an intimate wedding ceremony and a large party to celebrate their 10th year together. And since they are both physicians, they were having the affair at the College of Physicians, home of the Mutter Museum. One of THE COOLEST museums in the city…if you’re into weird medical oddities – and I AM. After meeting Ellie and Jake and listening to the many heartfelt and hilarious speeches their friends and family made over the course of the night, I felt like I knew so much about them. Everyone spoke about how big their hearts are for helping people, healing people, and traveling the world (often at the same time). It was so cool to take a peek into their lives on such a special night. Congratulations, Ellie and Jake!
